The Nash organ replaces a rather unremarkable residence organ that had reached the end of its useful life, and was partially damaged from water. Nash, a local organist, had asked my firm to build a new small instrument to replace the damaged organ. The organ was built on a relatively small budget and reflects more of my passion for my work than the contract specified. The organ was fun to build, and it would be safe to say that I got a little carried away and delivered an organ of at least double the contracted cost.

The organ is quite complete and is far too large for the room it is in. My thought was that it would one day be installed in a chapel or small church someday. The design of the organ is rather compact and fits ten ranks of pipes in an area 4’ X 8’ and 7’6” high. It has an electric action with greatly expanded wind-ways, and excellent pipe speech. The console is remote from the organ and was built in our workshops, and the bench is a Phelps design, which we have modified and adapted for our own use. (Phelps benches can be ordered from our factory in any desired wood spieces or finish.)

This organ was a flight of fancy on my part, and was built more for my own fun than anything else, but it also produces fabulous music in a compact space.
