C. M. Walsh Pipe Organs was conceived with two basic ideals in mind: to offer the highest quality pipe organs services available and to preserve the skills that are an important and necessary part of proper organbuilding and maintenance.
Pipe organs usually require significant attentions only once in their lifetime. As one of the church's most prized and valuable possessions, the selection of the organbuilder to perform this work and to provide the care and maintenance of the organ plays a critical role in the stewardship of the instrument. A pipe organ, like the church building itself, belongs to the ages as something to pass on to future generations.

We combine old world skills with a full understanding of modern technologies related to pipe organs. There have been many technological advances in the art of organbuilding in the past thirty years. Some offer great enhancements over their older counterparts and some are merely quick fixes for those who lack the skills to do otherwise. These, like all other technical advances, have their place in modern organbuilding, but they do not belong in every instrument or in every situation. We recognize the uniqueness of each individual instrument and, when appropriate, will utilize the best advanced technologies available without compromising the integrity of the organ. Our business is singularly devoted to creating new pipe organs and to the rebuilding, restoration, and maintenance of existing instruments. We provide services that serve the long-term interests of the church and the organ. |

C.M.Walsh Pipe Organs is a complete service facility. The vast majority of out work is completed in house including consoles, casework, chests, pedal boards, reservoirs, etc. We feel that this ability is crucial to ensure the quality and longevity of the instruments we produce, and the services we perform. It also serves to control costs, regularly providing superior products and services at a reasonable cost.

As with organbuilding itself, the tuning and maintenance of a pipe organ is a unique blend of art and science. The pipe organ is the most mechanical of all musical instruments, so great care and forethought must go into its tuning and care. The organbuilders must always consider the musical integrity of the instrument as their goal. This ensures that the organ will sound and perform as a responsive and musical instrument, and not simply a sum of its parts. Proper care also ensures that the instrument will enjoy a long life at a minimum cost. |
